Installing Fedora 18 on WS9 missing 1920x1080 resolution

I'm hoping I'm just missing something easy, because this is just so odd...

After clean install of Fedora 18 64-bit (with KDE) on WS9, there is no screen resolution shown in xrandr for 1920x1080.  It shows my native 2560x1600, then modes 1920x1440, 1920x1200, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, etc and so on.  Where is 1920x1080?

I can add it using gtf and xrandr, but that's a lot of trouble to go through and to add insult to injury, it doesn't survive a reboot of the VM.

It makes no difference installing vmware-tools.

The other new thing (to me) was that it shows 8 virtual screens for output.

The Virtual Machine Settings for Display are to Use host setting for monitors, and I have Accelerate 3D graphics set.  This is exactly the same as my Fedora 16 VM, and it works just fine.  1920x1080 is a valid resolution on the monitor according to Windows.

Anybody know what I'm missing?

Thanks,

Gray
