The title of this post is pretty self-explanatory -- I recently migrated my PC to a virtual machine, and my iPhone was/is synced with the copy of iTunes installed originally on my PC. All of my settings, files, etc., were transferred over to the new VM, and for the most part, things have been seamless.
An issue appeared, however, when trying to sync new content to my iPhone via the VM. Plugging in my iPhone, I selected "Connect to Windows" when asked by VMWare, expecting to be able to drag and drop files within the iPhone's content areas (photos, audio files, etc.). However, because the phone does not recognize the machine, it won't let me transfer files; however, the iPhone otherwise does appear perfectly in the copy of iTunes I am running within the VM.
So far, the only solutions I have come across include doing a backup of the phone and reformatting it, then re-syncing all of the data. I would like to avoid this -- as far as I'm concerned, I migrated my PC, so the phone should recognize the computer and library tied to iTunes...
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
