setting up the rt apache module from hyperic HQ

I've succesfully compiled and installed the following product connector into Apache 2.2 in order to allow Hyperic HQ to monitor response time.

found in the agent package under bundles/agent-4.6.6/product-connectors/

apache2ctl -M shows the rt_module is loaded.

According to the source, I should be putting

somewhere in my html, and it should then replace that html with an image like this:

But when I view the url in my browser, I see only . I confirmed that SSI was working with

<!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->

. Any ideas what's wrong? Or does it need to be fired in some other way (such as by the HQ agent) rather than a browser?
