Hi Wil,
- Just a quick update...
- I finally received a reply from VMW Engineering Team re this problem. This was their reply:
- "...you may use this as a workaround, you may either clear the recent documents in Windows, or go to (Click on Finder, hold on to the alt/option key , click on Go on the top menu bar and click on Library)~/Library/Preferences/VMware Fusion/preferences , right click on preferences file and open with Text Edit and add the below line to disable loading the recent documents for the Fusion Start Menu at the bottom and save it."
- pref.guestAppList.maxItems.recentDocuments = "0"
- I chose to edit the "preferences" file on the mac side with the above line.
- My "VMware Tools" seem to be working in Win7 now. And, vmtoolsd.exe is running in "system" and "user" instances. But, according to the VMW Engineering Team above - "this as a workaround".
- The last time vmtoolsd.exe loaded properly was on Dec 12, 2012. Coincidentally, that was the same day my Win7 did some auto-updates. FWIW, attached herewith is a list of updates that were done on that day. Do you think any of the updates caused a problem for VMware Tools?
Appreciate your reply,
Michael
