Disallowing a guest to join a network on a ESXi host?

We are relatively new to Vsphere, so this may be a silly question.  we have our 6, 5.0 ESXi hosts trunked up to several network switches in our network (all separate VLANs).  All ESXi hosts have the same identical network configuration.  Any guest could be reconfigured to attach to any network we have.  Is it possible to disallow a guest to attach to a network? in other words, when i edit the setttings on the guest certain networks would not show up as alloable networks for that guest.  could i do it on a guest by guest basis?  is there a way to put guests into groups and apply rules like that in a group?

It sounds like my problem might be better solved implementing the Nexus 1000V firewall solution, but I wanted to see if there was anyway to accomplish this without that.

Thanks,

Damon
