Re: Set-NetworkAdapter for updating to Vmxnet3 on Windows 2008 R2

Hi LucD,

I tried scanning for hardware changes, even uninstalling the e1000 device from device manager. Upon hardware scan, Windows reinstalls the e1000 driver.

I am wondering if it is even possible for Windows to recognize that the device has been changed on the vmware side via Set-NetworkAdapter -type $nictype

The only way I can get Windows to show the proper driver is to Remove-NetworkAdapter, New-NetworkAdapter... Upon reboot of Windows, it recognizes as the proper device (VMXnet3 driver).
