I'm having somewhat of a discussion with the company that hosts my virtual servers (Windows) and vshield. Currently my servers aren't able to connect to itself or other servers behind the vshield through their public IP. Some examples:
- My dns servers need to authorize the each other for zone transfers. They get authorized by public domain name and IP. This doesn't work.
- My Sitefinity CMS systems that are hosted on one of the servers use the public domain to make SOAP requests to itself. This also doesn't work.
- Several websites use the public mail server address to send en receive mail...
I have a long experience with firewalls but this behavior seems like a config setting to me and not the way NAT works like I am told. I am a newbie to the vmware vshield so maybe this is the way the system works but I'm having a hard time believing this.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
