My suggestion is to be patient and search for training at your local Junior College. I took this route and spent $150.00 on the course plus another $50.00 for the text material. Note, I could have purchase the e-book for $16.00, but I am old school.
The class meet once a week for a semester and approximately two-thirds of each class focused on lab exercises.
My former employer use to cover my training expenses - something that I don't hear anymore. In this market, I cannot see myself spending $3,000 plus on training. However, even when the expense was covered for me, I never preferred the "boot-camp" type classes. It just never left me ready for cert exams.
