I had been using Workstation 8 on a Windows XP 32 bit machine and recently upgraded to a new computer using the same workstation version, but Windows 7 Pro x64. Now the VM that I moved over to that machine, which never had much of a problem on the XP machine, crashes fairly regularly with the following error:
VMWare workstation unrecoverable error: (mks)
Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation) has occured
Most of the time, the only way out of it is to end Workstation using task manager as the VM completely locks up at that point. The guest OS is a Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit. I can't seem to find anything out there that has any real suggestions for me. I do have a dual monitor system set up and I had thought maybe there was something to switching the workstation to span the screens, but I have found that leaving it in a 1 screen configuration causes it to crash as well. The log file is attached - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
