That is not necessarily totally true and obviously depends on what services the Guest OS is offering. You can use NAT with Port Forwarding for some services. You just need to make sure you properly configure the Host/Guest for this type scenario where applicable. Yes, Bridged eliminates this hassle however some things can be worked-around using NAT with Port Forwarding.
