I would like to boot a live cd (and/or a live usb) on my system: MacBook Pro (late 2011) running Mountain Lion,
with VMFusion 5.
My goto VM is Ubuntu 12.10 64. That is the machine I was rebooting in my attempts to boot from a CD.
It was frustrating trying to read the F2, F12, Esc "interrupt info" taht flickers on the screen during startup . . . so I
had to reboot many times.
When I entered Setup (F2), I was not allowed to change the boot sequence. Frustratiing, as the boot sequence is
HD, removable drive, CD, I didn't even try booting from a live usb.
I tried several times to use ESC to enter the Boot Setup; to no avail. I kept getting to the Ubuntu 12.10 login
screen.
So:
1. Can I boot a vm from a live CD or live usb? How?
2. Can I change the boot order? How?
Is this the right path to achieve booting from a CD or a usb? Or should I create new VMs?
Thanks,
Tim
