  1. first check whether these affected VMs are p2v VMs. If yes then uninstall all the hardware related stuff like drivers, hardware monitoring application etc.,
  2. try to find out what is common to these affected vms, for example, they are in a particular network or they share a particular datastore or they all have a particular application,
  3. see if this happens most often during one point of the day or through out the day
  4. in the task manager find out which process is eating more resources and google that out and find out what it is and see if you can update it or patch it to the latest if you can
  5. if these vms had the same behaviour right from the beginning of their lifecylce then it means that they were meant to be, meaning they are resrouce hungry bcoz the job that they do require that amount of resources and if it has started recently then see what is that which you have updated which made this happen. you can check that by checking add/remove programs and see which update/application was installed and that co incides with the beginning of this issue
