Is it possible to use static link aggregation for VSA Front End and Back End networks?
Greenfield installs complain about vSwitch0 having a LAG configured instead of NIC teaming with failover. A brownfield installation will force you to explictly configure NIC teaming with vmnics in specific active/passive order for the VSA-Front End network and opposite active/passive order for VM Network and Management Network. VSA won't install without VSA-Back End being on the same vSwitch as the VSA-VMotion port group. The VSA-Back End port group has one active/passive vmnic order while the vMotion port group has the opposite.
So, after completing a brownfield installation, we put the VSA in maintenance mode, switched vSwitch0 to a static Link Aggregation group, and took it out of maintenance mode. It tested out fine with cables being pulled and re-connection, the VSA staying on-line the whole time. However, when attempting to go back into maintenance mode, the process hung.
Anyone run into this issue?
Or done Link Aggregation with VSA 5.1 some other way? Some other installation method?
