IHello Folks,
Looking for some input on the following issue:
- After a full YUM update in Fedora 17, on reboot the desktop starts but the login window never is displayed.
- VMWare Tools is installed an up to date
- Trying to launch a Virtual Terminal with CTR + ALT +F2 (or F3, F4,.etc..) fails also. Console is shows, but is locked up displaying the last GRUB messages.
- If I edit the GRUB config by commenting out the X-Server launch, the virtual console works fine and I can login, run commands, etc.
I am running Fusion 5.0.2 in a Mid 2012 13-Inch Macbook AIr, OS X10.8.2; I also do not have this proble with CentOS 6.3 in Fusion or REL6.3 in Workstation 9.
My guess is that this is related to the graphics driver in Fedora. Graphics driver shows up as VESA. Has anyone seen this before or have any tips on how to troubleshoot or debug?
Thanks!
Wilbur
