Hi Community,
in a couple of Linux (Debian) VMs I encountered a misalignment of the partitions. During investigating the problem the interlocking question came up how Fusion deals with the disk alignment. Does Fusion align the virtual disk optimal to the underlying physical disk or at least to the underlying filesystem?
Second question is, if it is in a virtual environment important to align the partitions on a virtual disk optimal to the underlying hardware?
Which alignment would be the best on a third party SSD for my virtual machines? I read a lot but I didn't found an evident explanation. Many suggestions points to 1 MiB alignment but I don't know if this is best practice on a Linux Debian system and even for a Fusion virtualized machine.
Thanks in advance & Bye Tom
