ESXi 5 host shut down from vCenter 5

Hi,

I am supposed to shut down one ESXi 5 host in order to add more memory. I know how to do it in vCenter and this is where I am going to do it. But one question is do I have to be in Maintenance Mode. I will shut down virtual machines first ( only 4 vms on this host) one by one.

My question would be do I have to be in maintenance mode to shut down the host

It is test environment so machines will not migrate
