CentOS kvm - secure enough?

So, this may not be the correct forum, but let me throw this out to everyone,,

I was asked about KVM (link) as an option for secure virtualization

I know Linux is more secure then windows, but I do not recall seeing this as a valid option for a DoD type production systems or cloud initiatives..  

No current STIG (to my knowledge) for this and I have not seen a lot of info on using KVM,,
