Hi everyone,

I'm on VMware Fusion 4.1.3.

Using Apple's USB Prober one can get usb device info & ID numbers.

Like this:

Feb  9 14:31:59.007  [1]    [0xffffff8029d95800] USB HID Interface #0 of device CompositeDevice @ 4 (0xfa120000)
Feb  9 14:40:00.583  [1]    [0xffffff8020acbe00] USB HID Interface #0 of device Logitech USB Keyboard @ 5 (0xfa130000)
Feb  9 14:41:46.693  [1]    [0xffffff802a87d400] USB HID Interface #0 of device CompositeDevice @ 4 (0xfa130000)
Feb  9 14:41:57.873  [1]    [0xffffff802f09f000] USB HID Interface #0 of device Logitech USB Keyboard @ 5 (0xfa120000)

Is there any way to use these ID's to set up an extra profile so that specified USB ID's connect to selected VM machines?

Or edit .vmx to contain this information?

I'm using multiple mice and keyboards.

My purpose is to make sure the correct set of mouse/keyboard is connected to the correct VM machine.

Another problem I seek to solve is this:

Using QuickTime I'd like to screenrecord vm activity and my interaction. This is mainly important during set up of a new vm, so often times there are no vmtools installed (yet).

What happens, however, is that the VM takes control of all my mice and keyb, and I can't interact simultaneously with QuickTime and the vm. I'd first have to Ctrl-apple key to release my mouse...

Thanks for your help!

Erwin
