As far as VMware is concerned they sold me an invalid serial key - one that was already registered to someone else. If I was running a legitimate business I wouldn't deal in stolen goods. I also explained the situation to them and their response was 'if it works its legit'. Also they told me the fine print that was only available post sale that their keys have been preregistered. So there was no way I was getting a key that i could register. That should have been disclosed before hand. I mean if I wanted to I could also run a key generator or go to pirate bay and get a code like that. Seems shady to me.
