Re: Using the vSphere API to Register a vSphere Client Plugin with VCenter 5.1 server

Thank you Laurent. Your detailed feedback was very helpful.

I can see my plugin listed inside the extension list when i check the http://vcenter-ip/mob

However i donot see the plugin when i go to system administrator -> plugin management.

Also i checked the virgo server logs under C:\ProgramData\VMware\vSphere Web Client\serviceability\logs\virgo-server and i dont see a reference to my plugin id.

My VCenter server is on machine A and VMWare vSphere web client is on Machine B. I am connecting to the vcenter (on machine A) from Machine B via the web client link.

I am currently using HTTP as the type on the ExtensionServerInfo (while setting it inside the Extension). Since it is not HTTPS I am not supplying a server thumbprint.

When I login to my vcenter server using the web client, I can see that it creates the folder vsphere-client-serenity under C:\ProgramData\VMware\vSphere Web Client\vc-packages. However the contents of vsphere-client-serenity is empty. I was expecting it to contain the expanded contents of my plugin zip.

My VCenter server is 5.1 and I am setting the type of my ExtensionClientInfo to vsphere-client-serenity and the type of my ExtensionServerInfo to HTTP.

Do let me know if you see something that i may be missing.

Thanks for helping out

Elizabeth
