Found a document in the documents section of the community that addresses this issue. Basically you have to remove Fusion manually, there is no remove utility, including removing a bunch of hidden library files, run the fix file permission utility and reinstall Fusion.
Never had this problem before so it was a new one on me.
If anything this will help point anyone else experiencing the problem to look in the document section of the forum for answers.
