How do you allocate IP addresses then?

Re: Mojave Dark Mode

Hi,

It is VMware policy not to comment on future features or policies, so there is not likely going to be an official answer.

Having said that, my guess is: never.

Not that I mean that I do not expect Dark Mode to never make it to Fusion, but as it is a new feature I do not expect it to come to Fusion 11.

More likely is that it will arrive with VMware Fusion 12.

So, now I've opened a support case.

Let's see what's happening ...

yes they are the terra1 firmware. we have a few 10zigs that work with a newer version.

I agree that we should upgrade but there seems to be some hesitation buying the new terminals.

Re: I am getting an error after upgrade workstation 15.1.0 build-13591040

I also have the same problem. Just upgraded to 15.1.0 on my Windows 10 Pro 1809. I've completely uninstalled previous version, rebooted, disabled anti-virus and installed 15.1.0 as administrator. No problem is indicated during the installation process.

But when I try to boot one of the clients I get

"Could not get vmci driver version: Referensen (handle) är felaktig."

You have an incorrect version of driver 'vmci.sys'. Try reinstalling VMware Workstation.

Module 'DevicePowerOn' power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine."

When I check C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\vmci\device\Win8\vmci.sys it has Productversion = 9.8.7.0 build-13442716.

But when I open C:\Windows\System32\vmci.sys it has Productversion = 9.8.6.0 build-3966680.

The odd thing is that when I uninstall Workstation C:\Windows\System32\vmci.sys is not removed, nor are the registry entries which refer to it.

And the new version of vmci.sys won't even install if I manually remove C:\Windows\System32\vmci.sys before installing workstation.

But the worst of all is that now I can't go back to some previous version of workstation. I've tried all the way back to 15.0.2 and now I get the same error. Versions that ran fine until as late as this morning now fails to run my clients. So thank you vmWare for destroying my development environment !!!!! How shall I ever trust an update from you again?

Thanks for the help..

Package/workflow folder is visible now in vRO.

I'd suggest you take a look at https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2019649 to find out how this will work.

Caution: Please note that the clean/shrink process will require additional (temporary) disk space. This is especially important in case you are using monolithic virtual disks (single .vmdk file), because the process will clone the .vmdk files.

Please read the article in my signature and try another response with more information. And no where here are you actually asking a question.

Hopefully in the next version they will make some changes to make them more useful and/or dynamic.

Having worked with the vRA.NEXT release, all I will say is this:  Don't get your hopes up

From your web VM (or any VM connected to a LS) can you:

  1. Ping its gateway (downlink on T1)
  2. Ping the downlink on T0
  3. Ping the uplink on T0

Can you also show your NAT rules on your T0?

It works with 5.0 kernel but not with 5.1. Which is rather sad as 5.1 final was released more than a week before Workstation/Player 15.1.0 and they had in two months to fix the (trivial) breakages since v5.1-rc1.

Re: Show vsan cluster events in vRealize Log Insight

This should have been posted in the Log Insight sub-forum.

You will need to ensure vRLI is integrated with vCenter so it collects on the Tasks and Events, and integrated with the ESXi hosts so it picks up their logs. You can then either re-use some of the existing vSAN widgets (one may already exist) or you can customize it to display those events. I don't have a step-by-step process for you.

Saludos.

Intenta trasnferir el archivo(s) desde linea de comandos con el pscp (se tiene que copiar en la PC de origen)

Debes activar el servicio SSH en el ESXi

eje: c: pscp win2k8.iso  root@esxi65-2:/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/ISO

https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

también prueba desactivando el Firewall del ESXi para tranferir el file

[root@ESXI01:~] esxcli network firewall set –enabled false

para validar que esta desactivado

[root@ESXI01:~] esxcli network firewall get

Exporting a VM should not be done by simply copying its files via SCP. You need to either create a proper backup archive or export to a portable format like OVA/F.

Re: Can not install any Linux OS in VMware 14 Player with host OS Windows 10 Home ver. 1809

Hello everybody

Now I solved the problem by myself.

The reason to my problem was that I have installed a new Solid State Drive from Samsung with 500 GB storage. This drive operate more than 10 times faster and by this reason I wanted to use that drive for my Virtual OS in VMware 14 Player as well for increased speed.

By mistake the Linux.ISO and the vitual machines landed in the very same map. And the Linux CD ISO was not possible to write any installation files into it.

Now I created a map called Linux into the SSD C: disk vhere the linux.ISO file is stored. The linux istallation was addressed to the virtual machines map where I have the other virtual OS stored.

By this fix it was no problem with installation.

This case is now solved. It can be left for other to get help from for some time.

Also, why have you posted this in the ESX 3.5 sub-forum when it has nothing to do with your question?
